Leavitt Lab attended Goldschmidt 2018 in Boston! Lina gave a tremendous talk, 'Bulk and Clumped Isotopic Signatures of Aerobically Produced Methane,' and Alice and Emma presented wonderful research posters.
Congratulations to our 2018 graduating seniors, Janel and Emma!
Janel, Emma, Alec, and Melanie presented fantastic research posters at the Wetterhahn Science Symposium!
Two of our lab members also gave wonderful senior thesis talks- Janel spoke about her work on methane isotopes and Emma spoke about her work on microbial iron-reduction.
Our chemostats went live for their first full experiment! Nice work, Alec!
The Leavitt Lab traveled to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for this year's NE Geobiology Symposium! Alice gave an awesome talk on archaeal lipids, and Lina, Janel, Emma, Alec, Beverly, and Wil had posters.
Wil gave a talk titled, "Tracking metabolic state in sulfate reducers via stable isotopic & proteomic fingerprinting,"at the ACS National meeting in New Orleans this year!
Lina, Janel, and Wil (Team Methane) traveled to UCLA to make isotope measurements on the Panorama Mass Spectrometer with Dr. Doug Rumble, Dr. Edward Young, and Dr. Jabrane Labidi.
